Avrey A. Anderson
Pastor Avrey Anderson was born in Toronto, Canada to two God-fearing, hardworking Jamaican parents, Arthur and Yvonne Anderson. He spent most of his education in a Christian environment. He was involved in school and church activities including drums, pathfinders, being a clerk, church plays and many more. As a result of being involved in church and school activities, he accepted the gospel message at a young age and looked to participate in any ministry endeavor he could.
After attending Andrews University for Biology on a pre-med tract, he accepted the call to ministry in his senior year completing his BA in Religion in 2011. Pastor Anderson then began his studies at Andrews Theological Seminary and then transitioned to Washington Adventist University in Maryland and completed his Master’s in Religion in 2017 with an emphasis in Urban Ministry. His goal is to make the gospel accessible to everyone.
Pastor Anderson has always had an interest in ministering to his peers and young people. He has served as a chaplain for his university choir at Andrews, and a student leader at his church on the campus. He has worked alongside pastors in Baltimore, MD and Ellenwood, GA developing ministry initiatives. Pastor Anderson volunteered with different churches throughout his training for ministry and has a passion for helping others discover, optimize, and utilize their gifts to work together to win souls for God’s kingdom. He believes the work of the gospel is for everyone to participate in. Pastor Anderson served as the lead Pastor for the Unity and Ascension district in Charlotte and Hickory, North Carolina.
In his spare time Pastor Anderson plays basketball, loves music, photography and technology. He likes to use his gifts, talents, and interests to also help in the advancement of God’s Kingdom. Like 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.”
He is happily married to his college sweetheart the former Christal Notice. They have three children Eden, Matea, and Judah. His ultimate goal as a minister is to do all that he can for the Master to say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
